This imposing property overlooking St. Mary's Church and the downtown is in a residential area on the outskirts of the city.
This view takes into account the relationship of the new arrangement and also divides the land in the southern and the northern portions into an ornamental garden. The surrounding terrace integrates the new sauna house and the main residential building of the complex. There is a sheltered area to the north. While the house is surrounded on all sides of the terrace, the sauna house is in a subordinate position to the main house.
The new building is built as a wooden construction, which has a solid concrete core. This, together with the steps, is the structuring element in the plan. There are no walls on the ground floor connecting the facade, so a peripheral enfilade arises. The multi-storey housing extends to the roof and conveys a generous sense of space.
This is also reflected in the window openings: floor to ceiling glazing integrates the environment in the living room and sets the view of the downtown scene. The shading is via sliding wood, which includes the structure of the wood-paneled facade (larch-rhomboid formwork). When closed, the building elements appear as a monolithic block. This impression is reinforced by the formation of the roof.
